Beautiful Koh Lipe Island!

Koh Lipe island, Sunrise Beach – 50 meters from my room. Fantastic snorkeling right on this beach. I saw many different kinds of sea life including a puffer, sargent major fish, parrotfish, and “Nemo” hiding among the waving arms of live coral! Unfortunately, I have a cold so I won’t be able to go scuba diving but I’m happy (other than feeling a bit guilty about telling Grace and the rest of you who are still experiencing winter.)

Love that second picture! Mysterious and well composed. Makes me jealous!

John- Beautiful photos! Your blogs brought us with you on your adventures -only a day later. I was impressed how you got all those names of the fish you saw.

    • Thanks – glad you’re enjoying the photos. Wifi too slow for video. Haha, the fish names I knew from previous scuba experiences, I have since decided what I thought was a puffer was really a box fish (

John! Really enjoyed all your new updated photos of the island, and especially the snorkeling video. That is certainly the clearest water I’ve ever seen… Almost looks better than my TAP water!
FYI: looks like you only received the first third of my last comment. It’s okay…. Maybe there’s a great EDITOR/PROOFREADER floating nearby.

    • Thanks, Cathy! I just uploaded a short video of the hermit crabs we saw on the beach. I’m now in a hostel in Bangkok for 1 night – fly to Chiang Mai tomorrow. Hope to write a post about my train journey tonight.
